A hair system can make a real difference to how your hair looks. Whether that makes one worth it is a personal choice. You need to like the result and feel comfortable with the care and cost that come with it. Here’s how we help you work that out at MOLISANO.
It starts with the hair you’d like to have
You don’t need to know all the technical terms before you come in. Bring a few pictures of haircuts you like and tell us what you have in mind. We’ll look at your existing hair, the colour and the coverage you want, then talk about what could work for you.
Have a look at the before-and-after photographs above. You can see the extra coverage on top and how the finished cut sits with the hair at the sides. That blend matters. A system needs a good cut as well as a good fit.

What happens at the fitting?
A hair system adds coverage with a hairpiece that we fit, cut and style around your own hair. There’s no surgery involved. We prepare the area, position the system and work on the haircut so the whole thing comes together.
At MOLISANO, your fitting and cut are with Don Quinn. Don has 20 years of barbering experience and five years fitting hair systems, and works from our studio in Pembroke Dock. See how the application works.
The result is visible at the fitting, but it’s worth thinking past that first appointment. You’ll also want to know how to wash it, style it and keep it looking good between visits.
The part you don’t see in a before-and-after photo
A hair system needs looking after. We’ll show you how to care for yours at home and talk you through the products and styling routine that suit it.
You’ll usually come back around every three weeks for cleaning and refitting. Systems typically last around three to six months, depending on care and wear, so replacements are something to plan for too.
If you’re coming from elsewhere in Pembrokeshire or further across Wales, think about those return journeys as well as your first visit. All our fittings and maintenance appointments take place in Pembroke Dock.
If regular upkeep doesn’t fit your life, it’s better to know that before you start. If it feels manageable and you like the look, a system may be a good option for you. Our maintenance page explains more about the visits.
Let’s talk about the cost
Your first system, fitting and cut at MOLISANO costs £550. Before that, we start with a £15 consultation so we can talk about your hair, the look you want and what wearing a system would involve.

When you’re deciding, allow for the refits and replacements as well as the first appointment. How often you need them will vary. We’ll explain the costs before you choose to go ahead, and you can see our full price information here.
Finding what works for your scalp
We don’t use the same application method for everyone. We choose between tape and adhesive glue based on your scalp and what works best for you, and talk through the options together.
During your consultation, we also carry out a skin sensitivity test with the adhesive glue and scalp protector intended for your fitting. We only go ahead with the application if no reaction is observed following the test.
